Being Vulnerable and Living Your Soul Purpose

What holds most people back from finding and LIVING their true pupose?

Fear.

That's sort of a no-brainer, as fear stops us from doing a lot of things. But, in my work helping others find their true purpose, vulnerability is often behind what's holding them back.

You see, to live your soul purpose you have to show the world who you really are. And for many reasons, that's extremely difficult in today's society. There are lawyers who want to be potters, doctors who want to save the world. There are folks who think if they find their purpose in life, they'll have to quit their job or leave their spouse.

So many of us have inner desires and dreams that we think others will see as "soft" or "worthless." We've been raised with the expectations that we'll go to college, get a job, have a family, settle down and then what? Retire?

How many of us are brought up to believe that you should live your life in a way that makes you happy?

And that's what living your soul purpose does - it gives you the freedom to be WHO YOU REALLY ARE. And guess what? It does not mean that you have to leave your job, your family or anything else in your life. Most of the time when people discover their true purpose in life, they simply allow themselves to BE their true self.

For example, one of my clients discovered that her purpose is "to bring joy." That's it! There were no trumpets sounding for her to go anywhere new, or do anything new.  She just learned that by allowing herself to bring joy to every situation she can (which she always did naturally)... she could live and work from a much better place - her own true self. She had spent most of her adult life wishing she was more "grown up" or "business like." The truth is -she is a good business person and she is perceived to be mature. By allowing herself to be "goofy", "caring", and "happy", she became more productive and the work she was already doing blossomed into relationships with clients she loved working with and projects that "make her heart sing."

How would you love to do work that "makes your heart sing?" Don't we all?

I found the following video that discusses the topic of vulnerability and how profoundly your life can change if you allow yourself to be vulnerable - to show the world who you are from the inside out.

Enjoy!
